Teachers of pilot schools evaluate support materials and study
On 6 and 7 May teachers from 12 pilot schools with approbation experience met at the seminar “Course of approbation of the teacher support materials”.
On 6 May teachers of natural sciences and mathematics took part in three activities – an activity on observation and analysis of lessons as a an inquiry tool and professional development of teachers, an activity on learning-oriented lessons, and working group discussions about curriculum in physics, chemistry, biology and mathematics for elementary schools.
When asked to analyse what they had accomplished on the first day of the seminar, teachers especially approved of the possibility to develop their professional skills in selecting teaching methods and working forms which comply with the result to be achieved.
At the beginning of the second day of the seminar teachers had a discussion on course and results of approbation of the teacher support materials for grades 7 through 8. The next activity was devoted to approbation of the electronic and visual teacher support materials. At the end of the day teachers analysed approbation results of inquiry, laboratory and final works for grades 7 through 8 and held a discussion on development of criteria for works and evaluation.
When evaluating course of the seminar, the Project experts approved of the recommendations put forward by the teachers of pilot schools with regard to development of the support materials.
